For our second day, we decided to take the subway to downtown Manhattan and look around SoHo, Little Italy and Chinatown. Yanmei wanted to do some shopping :/ .
We started off in SoHo and walked randomly. Soon we came to Little Italy.
The whole street was full of Italian restaurants on both sides. I was imagining which one was the mafia hangout, haha. It was a bit early but we were both hungry so we went into a place called Aunt Jake's.
Yanmei had a veggie lasagna and I had garganelli pasta (green tubes like penne) with meatball sauce. My pasta was really good, fresh and perfectly cooked. Yanmei said her lasagna wasn't as good as the veggie lasagna I cook, and I had a bite from her plate and I agreed with her. We had the Italian donuts for dessert.
After lunch we continued the shopping. We made our way to Chinatown. Although her clothes shopping failed, Yanmei did by a few things from the markets in Chiantown, mushrooms etc. She really liked one big market with all kinds of meats.
We ate dinner at a small restaurant in Chinatown. Finally we headed back to the hotel for the night.
